Mooring on BDE MAKA SKA

The Minneapolis Park Board rents buoys on Bde Maka Ska each summer for mooring sailboats. CYC members may choose to moor their boats on the lake.

Buoys are allocated in a drawing each year in mid-April. To be eligible for the drawing, permit applications must be submitted by the end of March. Although Minneapolis residents are given preference, those who live outside the city can usually get a buoy as well.

In recent years, a few buoys have been left over after the drawing. If you own a boat and want to join CYC after mid-April, you may still be able to get a buoy.

To inquire about availability and rental rates, contact the Minneapolis Park Board, (612) 230-6441, or view their website.
